Second Straight Runnerup Finish For Lascuola at Seekonk

Nick Lascuola led nearly half the race at Seekonk before getting passed in lapped traffic by eventual winner Nick Ladyga and ending up with his second straight runnerup finish in the Nick’s Pit Stop INEX Legends feature.

After the race Nick was disappointed but positive at the same time.

“I thought we had a good shot at winning this one,” the 16-year-old said.  “The car was amazing all day.  We won our heat and we knew we had a car capable of winning the feature.  I had to work the high side early in the race but then once we got an opening on the bottom we passed the top three inside and were leading by lap 3.”

The yellow No. 39 began opening up an advantage as Ladyga found his way to second.  Soon, the “Nick and Nick Show” began as Ladyga chipped away at Lascula’s lead as the race neared halfway.

About 20 laps into the race, a lapped car zigged when Lascuola was expecting him to zag.  “He went from top to bottom and I had to check up.  (Ladyga) was still on the gas and was able to get by me for the lead.  We had a caution right after that and I thought I might still have a shot but then a slower car drifted up the track in front of me and forced me to the very top.  We had no shot to catch him after that.  Lapped traffic just wasn’t with us today.”

Looking forward, Nick feels like victory is coming.  “Our car is a rocket.  Ryan Farbo has helped us a lot and we’re fast everywhere we go.  We’re having some bad luck right now but that will change and we’ll get some wins.  I appreciate all the help my family gives me as well as Farbo Motorsports and all of our marketing partners.  I am looking forward to getting a win soon for them.”

Nick raced at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday on the 1/4-mile oval and finished fifth despite blowing an oil filter gasket in practice.  He returns to Seekonk this Friday night for round two of “Fast Friday” action.
