Nick Lascuola Collects Hardware at Seekonk Banquet

Abington, Mass – New England racing star Nick Lascuola picked up several pieces of hardware at the Seekonk Speedway 2013 season banquet this past weekend.

The 16-year-old scored his first Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Championship, winning 8 out of 15 races during the season and picking up the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series championship as well.

Nick also picked up a trophy for winning the Legends Pro Division Championship and was presented with the inaugural  Driven Steering Wheels Driven Driver of the Year award as well.

“I wasn’t expecting the Driven award,” Nick smiled afterward.  “I want to thank Zack Skolnick from Driven Steering Wheels for his part in making the award possible.  It’s neat to be given a Driven Steering Wheel as well as a trophy.  I really want to thank my family, everyone on my team and especially my sponsors and fans for all of the support they continue to give me.  A lot of people sacrifice time and money to make this whole thing happen for me.  We had a pretty amazing season last year just in terms of finishing races, let alone winning them.  It was a lot of fun.”

Nick will compete in his first full season of Late Model racing at Seekonk this year along with some starts in Fast Friday Legends Action.

Nick has also entered the 2014 edition of the Champion Spark Plugs “Search for a Champion” contest.

Racers enter the contest by submitting a video and Champion Spark Plugs uses fan voting to help determine how they award 2014 sponsorship dollars with the grand prize winner receiving a $50,000 season sponsorship.

Voting in round one started on January 6th and continues today. In the first round 15 drivers will be picked and awarded a $5,000 sponsorship. In the second round those 15 will battle for the $50,000 top prize.
