Abington, Mass – One of New England’s rising racing stars, Nick Lascuola, has been chosen as 1 of 15 finalists in the 2014 edition of the Champion Spark Plugs “Search for a Champion” contest.
Racers entered the contest by submitting a video and Champion Spark Plugs uses fan voting to help determine how they award 2014 sponsorship dollars with the grand prize winner receiving a $50,000 season sponsorship.
The 15 finalists are awarded a $5,000 sponsorship and will now begin to battle for the $50,000 top prize.
“This was a pretty incredible day,” said Nick. “It means a lot to me that the folks from Champion Spark Plugs chose me as a finalist. It’s very exciting that everyone’s hard work who voted for me each day has paid off, helping us to advance and be given $5,000. Now we have a shot at the $50,000 Grand Prize when the voting for that begins February 21st.”
Voting runs from the 21st through March 23rd, after which all votes, video views and criteria will be reviewed and the Grand Prize winner determined.
“I can’t thank all the people enough who put in the time to vote for me,” smiled the personable young driver. “I sure would appreciate everyone working twice as hard over the next month because that Grand Prize would definitely change our season!”
Adding to Nick’s already exciting week was an interview with the Abington Mariner newspaper for a feature article and the confirmation that long-time supporter Barrett’s Haunted Mansion will return to Nick’s program in 2014.
“Barrett’s will have the Primary Sponsorship on our Legends car for the year, which we’ll be running on Fridays. We are excited to run the Late Model on Saturdays and be running Seekonk twice every week this year!”
