Abington, Mass – One of New England’s rising racing stars, Nick Lascuola, has entered the 2014 edition of the Champion Spark Plugs “Search for a Champion” contest.
Racers enter the contest by submitting a video and Champion Spark Plugs uses fan voting to help determine how they award 2014 sponsorship dollars with the grand prize winner receiving a $50,000 season sponsorship.
Voting in round one started on January 6th and continues today. In the first round 15 drivers will be picked and awarded a $5,000 sponsorship. In the second round those 15 will battle for the $50,000 top prize.

Plans for Nick in 2014 include a step up to the Late Model series at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachussetts where he has won track championships in both the SYRA 600 Mini Cup Series and the INEX Legends Cars.
“After racing the Late Model at the DAV Fall Classic at the end of last year I’m really looking forward to getting a full season in this year,” Nick said. “We’re gearing up for a big season and winning the Search For A Champion contest would help us with some needed and valuable funding to run even more races. We hope all of our fans and friends will vote for us daily!”
Asked to elaborate on his 2014 plans, Nick explained, “We plan to run for Rookie of the Year and we believe we are capable of winning races with more seat time and a better understanding of the setup. The Late Model is much different to drive and set up than the Legends Car was so we will have a learning curve. I love racing in front of all the fans at Seekonk on Fridays and now we’ll be able to race on Saturdays for the first time and see if we can make some new fans!”
