Nick Lascuola Wins Seekonk Track Championship

Friday night was a “magic” night for Abington, Massachussetts
racer Nick Lascuola, as he put the crowning achievement on his INEX Legends racing
career by winning the 2013 Seekonk Speedway Track Championship in the Nick’s Pit
Stop Legends division.

The two-time defending Massachusetts State INEX Legends champion had already
earned the championship in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Legends
cars earlier this year at Seekonk.

“It is amazing to finally win a track championship again at Seekonk,” Nick exclaimed.
“We won one with the SYRA Mini-Cup but this is our first in the Legends car. This is
my home track and the home track for many of our team sponsors so to be able to
get this for them is just awesome. I can’t thank my family and everyone who
supports me enough for all they do for my racing.”

Nick actually finished second to Al Wisialko in the race but that was good enough to
wrap up the championship one week early. “I thought we had the car to beat
tonight,” Nick explained. “It took us a while to get through the pack but we got the
lead on lap 17 and I thought we were in good shape. We pulled out by a halfstraightaway
or so. Then we had a caution and my car pushed bad after the restart,
allowing Al to get under me. I’m not sure why that happened. I could stay outside of
him but I couldn’t get a run to get back in front. It was probably a fun show for the
fans there at the end! Tonight was Al’s night and I’m really happy for him. I’ll take a
second and a track championship all day long!”

The 16-year-old’s next start will be this Friday at Seekonk Speedway for their Fast
Friday 2013 Finale. For information on the speedway, start times, etc. visit the
