Nick Lascuola Wins Two Races and a Championship!

Nick Lascuola of Abington, Mass. had himself a winning weekend,
sweeping both the final leg of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series at Seekonk
(Mass.) Speedway on Friday (along with the series championship) and Star (New
Hampshire) Speedway’s Amsoil Nelcar Tour Series race on Saturday night.
Lascuola, 16, has now won four of his last five at Seekonk and five of his last eight
races overall.

At Star Speedway on Saturday, he started third and had the lead by lap five. He had
things his way until a caution for fluid on the track necessitated some “speedy dry”.
Nick’s car was already “loose” and the speedy dry only added to that and he
struggled over the last five laps to hang on to the lead. The yellow No. 39 survived
for the win and Nick was mighty happy after the race.

“This is just awesome,” he smiled. “We led a lot of laps the last two nights but the
wins haven’t been easy because the car just went away bad in both races. It was
great to win the Triple Crown title last night and it’s just incredible to finally win a
Nelcar race. I love racing at Star. This track’s a lot of fun and we’ve been fast both
times we’ve been here. I can’t thank my team and my sponsors enough for sticking
with me through all the ups and downs the last couple of years. We’ve got five wins
this year. We should have eight but that’s beyond our control. It’s great to win two
races in two series at two different tracks in two nights!”

Nick got some sleep Saturday night before cleaning up his car and taking it to the
Boston Red Sox game on Sunday as part of their “Fanfest” celebration, where he
signed autographs prior to the start of the game.

Nick will be back in action again this Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. For more
