Nick Lascuola Nabs First Win of 2013 at Seekonk

Abington, Mass. – Two-time defending Massachussetts State INEX Legends Champion
Nick Lascuola went from bridesmaid status to being the bride as he held off repeated
challenges from rival Nick Ladyga to capture his first 2013 season INEX Legends car
win at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway Friday night.

Lascuola said afterward that the win was especially sweet on the Independence Day
Weekend.

“I’d like to win every week but that’s really not a shocking statement coming from a
racer,” Nick joked. “But these holiday weekends always make the racing seem a little
extra special and with us having had so many rainouts lately it was nice to come
back and have things fall our way for a change.”

He added that Ladyga’s challenges just make his team focus harder on the little
things that make the difference. “People get the wrong idea about these Legends
cars sometimes because they’re small. With “spec” cars everyone pretty much has
the same stuff so you have to really concentrate on doing all the little things right if
you’re going to win. Having a racer like Nick (Ladyga) to compete against each week
just raises the bar because you know you have to bring your A-game in order to
outrace him. It’s good to finish first for once this year instead of second!”

Giving thanks to his team and sponsors, Nick also reflected on the holiday. “I want
this win to be for all of our past and present servicemen and servicewomen as well
because without them fighting everyday to keep us free we might not even have
races for me or anyone else to win. Thanks to all of those who serve in the military
for their service to our country.”
