Nick Lascuola Makes It Two In A Row At Seekonk!

Nick Lascoula of Abington, Mass. chased arch rival Nick Ladyga for
almost the entire Nick’s Pit Stop INEX Legends race at Seekonk Speedway on Friday
night before he passed him and went on to his second win in a row.

Once again the crowd enjoyed the “Nick and Nick Show” and the burgeoning rivalry
has remained friendly but intense.

“Nick is a good racer and he’s fast,” Lascuola said. “You just know going into the
night the he’s the one you’re going to have to beat if you’re going to win a Fast
Friday race at Seekonk. But I’ve been racing there for nearly five years now and I
have believed from day one that we have the team to beat him and win the
championship. I can’t thank my team and sponsors enough because we need
everyone together to be able to win races. It’s been fun racing with (Ladyga) every
week because we race each other hard but we have no interest in wrecking each
other for a win.”

Then he smiled and added,”Or at least I don’t!”

Pressed to expand that thought, Nick was matter-of-fact. “In Legends cars, using a
bumper and moving the driver in front of you up a lane is acceptable because the
cars are so equal. I always try to avoid that but sometimes it’s what you need to do
to win or pass a slower car that’s trying to block you. But I never aim to spin or
wreck anyone. That’s just not cool. Nick Ladyga and I seem to be able to compete
aggressively without crossing the line and I think that’s good. It’s good for the fans
and it’s good for the division and it’s fun to be a part of. If you win you know you’ve
done something that night and if he beats us then we just need to work harder the
next week to get it back. I hope we can both keep that attitude all year. Isn’t that
how racing should be?”

Nick will be in action this Wednesday at Seekonk as part of Seekonk’s Open Wheel
Wednesday night of racing. For more information you can visit Seekonk’s website at
